Church... what does that word mean to you?  What feelings or emotions does it stir?  Or does it create any type of sensation at all?  In 2021, a Gallup poll reported that church membership among Americans had dropped below the 50% mark for the first time since reporting began over the last eight decades.  The same report indicated church membership was as high as 73% in 1937 but has since seen a steady decline for the past century.

But that trend does not have to continue!  Each one of us can choose to be a part of the population that begins to turn that around.  While church membership is not the main goal or the critical component of a person's spiritual walk, it is a sign of a healthy relationship with the Lord and, it is Scripturally based.  Salvation of course is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone.  But, please remember this; Christ died for the church.

In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul, in writing to the husbands, shows the high level of sacrifice husbands are to make for their wives and compares it to the relationship of Christ to the church.

"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;" - Ephesians 5:25

The church is a place for us all to be together, to gain strength from one another and to pray for and with one another.  It's a place the Word of God says we should never take for granted.

"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)  And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." - Hebrews 10:23-25

So, again, church... what does it mean to you in this world we live in today?  Let it be a place that the Lord intended.  A place of love and good works, a place that we not forget or placed aside to the things of the world, a place that we desire to be more and more in the days ahead - not less.

New Birth Welcomes New Local Mission Works

September 25, 2023

Mission is considered one of the lifelines of the local New Testament Church.  As such, New Birth Baptist strives to support missionary local and abroad to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through many displays of love, works and witnessing.  This year, New Birth decided local missions was where the focus needed to be and the church voted to begin support for Fire Escape Missions, Inc. as well as Return America. These two works provide help to local citizens as well as to churches, schools, and even our government to ensure the Christian values and rights of everyone are upheld and supported.  Click on each link to learn more about each mission work.

We are a rural Baptist church, situated between Stokes and Forsyth Counties in central North Carolina, founded in 1944 and still pushing forward with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We would love to have you join us online for now and then eventually back in the sanctuary when appropriate.

Special events are usually planned for children and teens on a regular basis and will be announced as needed.
